How are asset records updated in CAMS?

CAMS contains a maintenance screen (Capital Asset Maintenance) for updating information on departmental assets, including serial numbers, location, and received date. This screen is restricted to the asset representative assigned to the department. The asset representative can also make updates and delegate asset maintenance to other employees using the Online Asset Maintenance tool.

How often do departments need to complete an equipment inventory?

Departments are required to complete an equipment physical inventory every two years (see Policy & Procedure Manual 350-55, IV B). There are several CAMS reports in DaFIS Decision Support that can assist with an equipment inventory, including the Equipment Physical Inventory Lookup (204). See the step-by-step guide on completing an inventory for more information.
