DaFIS Access For Returning Employees

Q. I recently did a rehire on an employee who previously had access to DaFIS TP and Decision Support. She is unable to log in, yet when I look in DaFIS she appears to be active. What is the problem, and how can I reinstate her access?

A. Employees that are separated from the university, even for a day, have their access revoked in the database. Although they appear to be active in DaFIS, they will not be able to log in.

There are several steps that need to be taken before a returning employee will be able to access DaFIS. Once the steps are completed, the employee will be able to log in using the same login ID and password he/she had before.

  1. The employee's status in the PPS system must be active.

  2. The employee must be an active FIS User. The account manager or supervisor of the employee may need to process an FIS User document in DaFIS to place the user in your Organization and/or make the employee an active FIS User. Use the FIS User Lookup (86) in Decision Support to determine if the employee is an active user and if he/she is currently assigned to the correct organization.

  3. The employee must send an e-mail message to dafishelp@ucdavis.edu to request that his/her DaFIS role access be reinstated. We will verify the employee's status in PPS and in the FIS User table before reinstating the access.
Once the employee's access role is reinstated, they will receive an e-mail or phone confirmation from DaFIS help desk staff. He/she will be able to log into TP immediately, but will not be able to log into DS until the following day.
