| C. Specify 10g Client Components | |

On the Available Product Components screen, the Oracle 10g 10.2.0.1.0 client is selected but grayed out; scroll through the rest of the list and select the following components (remove the check mark from components not listed here):

| 3 | Product-specific Prerequisite Checks: The installer will verify the readiness of your computer for the Oracle 10g client install; the status of each check should indicate success |

| 5 | The Summary screen will display a summary of the installation options you selected; if everything looks good, click Install to begin copying files |
| 6 | An Install screen, with a progress bar, will be displayed; it may take several minutes to copy files |
| 7 | When the file copy is completed, a Configuration Tools screen will appear; wait for the installer to automatically launch the 10g Configuration Assistant |
| D. 10g Configuration Assistant | |
| 1 | On the Welcome screen, leave the Perform typical configuration option unchecked |
| 2 | Click Next to continue |
| 3 | Add Directory Naming to the Selected Naming Methods column |
| 4 | Remove Local from the Selected Naming Methods column; Directory Naming should now be the only entry in the Selected Naming Methods column |
| 5 | Click Next to continue |
| 6 | The Naming Methods Configuration Done appears; click Next to continue |
| 7 | The 10g Configuration Assistant: Done is the next confirmation screen; click Finish to return to the 10g client installer End of Installation screen |

| E. Copy the LDAP.ORA, SQLNET.ORA and DaFIS TP Shortcuts | |
| 1 | Copy the LDAP.ORA file from Q:\DaFIS\Install\manual\extras\ldap.ora Replace the existing ldap.ora file in C:\Oracle\DaFIS10g\network\admin If you selected a different install drive, copy the file to the Oracle network\admin directory on that drive instead. |

| F. Test DaFIS TP with 10g 10.2 Client | |
| 1 | Select Start->Run |
| 2 | In the Open field, enter Q:\DaFIS\Test\util\dafis.exe |
| 3 | As DaFIS TP loads, you may be prompted to update the SQLNET.ORA file on your computer (this is normal after a manual install); click Update to update the local SQLNET.ORA file |
| 4 | If you receive an error message about a missing CTL3D32.DLL file, copy the file for your version of Windows from the repository at Q:\DaFIS\Install\manual\extras\uniface to your Windows system directory; after copying the file, run dafis.exe again |

When you get to the login screen, enter these values:

| 7 | You should see the Welcome to the FIS menu screen, which confirms that the 10g client is working properly with DaFIS TP; click Exit the FIS |
