Practice Using DaFIS

We encourage DaFIS users to use the DaFIS Transaction Processing (TP) Training module to practice and reinforce the concepts learned in the classes. If you are not sure if you have the Training module on your computer, contact your local technical support staff who can assist. Information on installing DaFIS Training is available on the Using DaFIS Training page.

The Training module is a good place to practice in a "safe" environment without the fear of inadvertently changing departmental information. The information in Training is not the same as the information in Production; it primarily reflects "trainee" accounts and organizations.

DaFIS Training refreshes every Monday, so your documents will be lost at that time. If you want a supervisor or account manager to review your documents in Training, be sure that they review them in the same week that you create them.

Note: There isn't a training module for Decision Support (DS). If you wish to practice running queries in DS, you will need to establish a DaFIS user account.

Logging into the Training Database

If you have never logged into DaFIS, we recommend that you begin with our tutorial on Starting DaFIS.

You won't be able to log in to Training with the login and password you use for DaFIS Production. In order to practice in DaFIS Training, you will need to select a trainee login ID and password from this list.

If you are unable to log in to Training with one of the trainee IDs and passwords, contact your local technical support staff. An adjustment may need to be made to the firewall settings on your computer.

Practice Exercises

We have the following practice exercises to help you get started: You can also try any of the exercises used in our classes.
