DS Only Access Management

Decision Support (DS) provides the ability to grant limited access to faculty and staff that do not have a daily business need for DaFIS. The access is granted by approved Access Managers, and is limited on an organizational, account, sub account and/or project basis.

Note: It is possible to grant users normal access to DS (not restricted to certain accounts/organizations) and not give them access to creating documents in DaFIS Transaction Processing. This can be accomplished by processing an FIS User document in DaFIS with an Update Ability of Inquiry. See How Do I Create a DaFIS User for instructions.

The instructions below are for departments that want to give access to limited accounts for a DS user.

DS Only User Information

The DS Only User Manual provides instructions on how to get DS Only access, and covers the basics for navigating Decision Support.

Current or potential DS Only users are also encouraged to check out the DS section of the New User Toolkit!

My Contracts and Grants

In addition, individuals that have been specified as the Principal Investigator (PI) on an account have the ability to view their accounts through the MyUCDavis portal. For more information, please see the My Contracts and Grants instructions.

Information on Granting DS Only Access

The DS Only Access Management Manual provides information and instructions on the process of granting DS Only access to non-TP users.

Top Level Access Managers

The first step in giving limited access to non-TP users is becoming an Access Manager. Top-level Access Managers have been chosen from Dean's/Vice Chancellor's Offices. These users have been given the ability to delegate authority to users at the departmental level.

If you wish to become an Access Manager, please contact the appropriate person in your organization with delegation authority. A list of the top-level access managers, and the organizations over which they have authority, can be found below. (The organizations specified below are at the top level of an organizational hierarchy.)
