Establishing Your DaFIS TP Password
Once you have a UCD login ID, someone with DaFIS Transaction Processing (TP) access can give you TP access (see Creating an FIS User). You must establish your DaFIS password within 48 hours of being approved as a new TP user (see Creating an FIS User, Step 3).

The Kerberos password that you set up when you obtained your UCD Login ID is used for logging into DaFIS Decision Support (DS), but it is not automatically used by TP. If your Kerberos password meets the TP password criteria, you can establish the same password for TP.

Having trouble picking a password? Find that you forget them easily? We have a few hints on selecting memorable passwords that might help.

Sharing Your DaFIS TP Password
Your login ID is the same as your signature on DaFIS documents. This means that you are responsible for all documents created or approved under your login ID. Read "Why Shouldn't I Share My Password" if you are thinking of letting anyone use DaFIS under your login ID. Passwords should never be shared with anyone, including network administrators and supervisors. Per UC Davis Policy and Procedure Manual Section 330-11, "All users of campus systems are accountable for transactions processed under their user IDs. The sharing of passwords and user accounts is strictly prohibited."

Changing Your DaFIS TP Password
You can change your TP password at any time on the Change Current Password page. In TP, passwords expire once a year, for security purposes. When logging into TP, a message appears on the Welcome to the FIS screen indicating when your TP password will expire. Before your password expires, TP provides several advisory messages and allows you the opportunity to set up a new password. If you miss the deadline for setting up a new password, please visit the Change Current Password page.

Since your password must never be shared with anyone else, you should change your password immediately if someone else finds out what it is or if you are concerned that the password has been compromised in any way.

Note: DaFIS users do not need to change passwords if moving to a new department. An FIS User document should be processed to update the organization code to which the employee is assigned. The same login ID and password can continue to be used in the new department.

If you have forgotten your password, call the Accounting & Financial Services Help Desk at (530) 754-6780 to set up a new one.
